Create a page layout using formal design elements in a creative way. Make the design “about” the formal elements both literally and conceptually.
Write some text about the way that you’re using formal considerations in your layout, and work it into the overall design. You’ll have to plan ahead and write the text as you go along for this to be successful. The text doesn’t have to be a paragraph. You could use words and phrases throughout your design to illustrate the way that you’re using formal elements.
