GDT 150 Design for the Internet: Fall 2001
Website Critique
Due: Sept. 6th
Pick any commercial (not necessarily e-commerce) website and write 4 paragraphs about it.
In the first paragraph, describe the site and its design approach. Is it clean? Is it convoluted? Is it subtle or is it bright and exciting? Try to be objective in this paragraph.
In the second paragraph, write what you like about the site. Describe anything that you find particularly successful about the design.
In the third paragraph, write about what you don’t like about the site you’ve chosen. List any problems or inconsistencies you find in the site.
In the fourth paragraph, write about whether or not the design of the site matches the site’s content and objectives, and why or why not. For example, does the design of an investment site feel trustworthy enough for you to invest your money with them? Does the site for the local nightclub feel exciting enough to inspire you to go there?
Save your paper on your zip disk and bring it to class on Thursday. We’re going to use this short paper as a learning tool for coding a simple webpage.
