It seems that Flash Player 6.0.23 has a bug where POST variables don’t get sent with getURL()’s. It works in Flash Player 5.0.42, 6.0.29, and 6.0.4. I’m working on adding a cgi to display swf’s from the swf browser and couldn’t get any variables to send via POST in Mozilla .9.9, Opera 6, or even Netscape 4, all on Windows. It worked fine in all my browsers on OS X. Then I realized that my Windows machine has old versions of the player, downloaded the new one, and it works like a charm. I just wonder what the standard distribution of the 6.0 player is. Maybe I should leave it as GET…
