Space Station Sighting
Chris and I just saw the International Space Station in the sky and it was actually pretty spectacular. At one point, about a third of the way across the sky, it caught the newly set sun and flashed brilliantly.
It was a little spooky to see. It was by far the brightest thing I’ve seen in the sky other than the moon, and larger than I expected. Normally, satellites are just pinpricks, but the spacestation was more like a firefly drifting across the sky. You could tell that it was close, but not quite how close. That’s what made it spooky—it seemed like it might fall out of the sky at any moment.
