What Would Jesus Drive?
Apparently some Jewish and Christian groups are mounting a campaign against SUV’s. They’ll be in Detroit today kicking off their ad campaign, although there won’t be any ads here. As wary as I am, it’s good that some religious people are getting involved because they actually have some sway in changing people’s minds. A little religious guilt might actually do some good this time.
The really pathetic thing in this article is that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is considering increasing fuel efficiency standards for SUV’s by only a half mile per gallon per year for the next 3 years, which adds up to a whopping 1.5 mpg. Great job. In two years, a Cadillac Escalade will only have to get 13.5 mpg. Now that’s progress.
