An Announcement
We’re having a baby!
Theoretically, Chris and I will be parents on July 16, 2003, right smack in the middle of a nice hot Michigan summer.
We did a great job of keeping the secret for 11 weeks, even in Chicago with Chris’s parents, and told our families on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Since it’s the first grandchild for both of our parents, there was much freaking out and joyful tears, especially on my mother’s, aunt’s and grandmother’s parts.
It’s a weird feeling—scared and excited, nervous and happy all at once. Suddenly, everything has changed. Hearing the heart beating so quickly two weeks ago was truly amazing.
