All I Ever Wanted
Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we head to the Cayman Islands to spend a week with my parents and, surprise, my little sister. I’m not especially thrilled with the idea of flying, so hopefully I can sleep tonight—not like when I flew to Minneapolis in August.
It took a while, but I’m actually excited about the trip. It should be relaxing, and I’ve talked to lots of people who love it there. We’ll do some snorkeling and some swimming and some sitting on the beach doing nothing. I could really use a nice realxing vacation after this past week, which was filled with layoffs, threats of dismissal from my teaching job for taking time off, and news that my boss was nearly killed in a skiing accident and will be out for months. This is just what I need.
