This shit makes me sick, especially since the FCC is about to deregulate big media, allowing one company to own all media outlets in one market. What could possibly be more dangerous to the free flow of opinion and information through the mainstream media? Fight the power, shut ‘em down.
What’s happened to the 60’s generation that once thrived on dissent and protest? Why is it completely unacceptable to even think differently from the current administration? Why do the Dixie Chicks have to apologize for saying something so ridiculously benign? I would be embarrassed if I were from Texas, too. Hell, I’m embarrassed that some Texas town’s missing fool somehow made it into the oval office.
It almost makes me nostalgic for the good old days when it was just the PMRC and stickers on records that you had to worry about. Of course, those were Democrats driving that, so it was a little more benign, concerned moms and all. With Republicans at the wheel, the corporate monolith dominates everything. Georgie, Dickie, Donny, and company want you to live in a clean-livin’ land and they’ll make damn sure that they and their buddies profit from it.
