Flash and Perl

Just an observation: there is very little information online about using perl .cgi as a backend for Flash applications. There’s plenty out there about using PHP with Flash, or ASP with Flash, but it seems that very few Flash developers are at all interested in using Perl.

I realized this (again) while researching setting cookies in the browser while using loadVars() to submit to a shopping cart from Flash. I came across several resources using PHP or ASP, but searching for a perl script yielded nothing.

Of course, if you can do it in PHP, it’s easy to do in perl, too. All you have to do is print a cookie header (print "Set-cookie: cookiename=value\n") above your Content-type header; the browser grabs the cookie and flash grabs the url-encoded content. Easy as pie (or maybe cookies).
