CNN.com: Disks found in Iraq show info on U.S. schools
OK, what does this headline imply in the current political climate in the US? Depends who you believe, but the sensationalistic intent is obviously that schools are terrorist targets due to new information found in Iraq. At least, that’s the bent that CNN (which, remember, is supposed to be left-wing) has taken and that which Detroit’s Channel 4, an NBC affiliate, conveyed last night in a teaser for the 11:00 news.
Reading the article, we find:
The Department of Homeland Security official said the material was associated with a person … [who had] a connection to civic groups doing planning for schools in Iraq…
They said the information recovered is publicly available through the Internet or other means.
So in service to the current administration’s election strategy of fear-mongering, the “liberal” media decides to imply to the casual viewer/reader that Al Queda is planning to attack American schools.
Thanks for doing such a bang-up job, guys.
