Okay, I was trying to open last years files instead of letting the program transfer the data. Everything’s looking good now, thanks for letting me know it can be done very easily!

I can not seem to be able to copy *.tax files from my laptop’s hard to my desktop. I can only see the files if I log in as an administrator, but even then, I can not copy the files. It says something to the effect that the files are protected. Does anyone know if this is a security feature that files can not be copied using windows exlporer. Any idea how to resolve this situation. My laptop crashed by I was able to take the drive out and use it as an external drive in hope of retrieving my data.

@OmDawoud, Just a guess: I think that if you right click on the file and choose “Properties” there’s a checkbox that says “Locked” or something to that extent. If you uncheck it, it should allow you to edit. Otherwise it’s probably some sort of lame microsoft drm…
